LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has finally scheduled a hearing on petitions filed against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) sit-in of 2014 in Islamabad, almost a decade after the protests took place.
A three-member full bench, led by LHC Chief Justice Alia Neelam, will preside over the case on Thursday, October 10.

The long-delayed petitions, originally filed by lawyer AK Dogar, challenge the legality of PTI’s sit-in, which caused widespread disruption in the capital. Dogar, who had been a key figure in opposing the protests, has since passed away.
Despite that, the court’s registrar has now issued a cause list, bringing the matter back to the legal spotlight after years of dormancy.
The 2014 sit-in, led by PTI, was one of the most prominent political movements in recent years, aimed at protesting alleged electoral rigging in the 2013 general elections. The sit-in continued for 126 days.
