ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan has claimed that his sons, Kasim and Sulaiman, have applied for Pakistani visas and are now waiting for approval from the interior ministry ahead of their planned visit to the country.
In a post on X, Aleema Khan said the two brothers recently submitted their visa applications at the Pakistani High Commission in London. The ambassador has intimated that he is awaiting approval from the ministry of interior in Islamabad,” she wrote.
A few days ago Suleiman and Kasim applied for their visas with the Pakistan high commission in London. The ambassador has intimated that he is awaiting approval from the ministry of interior in Islamabad.

This development comes after the two British-born sons of the PTI founder publicly spoke out in May for the first time regarding their father’s imprisonment. Last month, Aleema Khan had revealed that Kasim and Sulaiman would campaign for their father’s release in the United States before arriving in Pakistan.
During their US visit, they met American lawmakers and officials, including former Trump aide Richard Grenell.
“Grenell kindly gave us time. I won’t go into details, but the meeting gave us hope,” Kasim said in an interview with American media outlet, Real America’s Voice.
Kasim and Sulaiman have NICOP
Aleema Khan earlier stated that both sons were indeed planning to come to Pakistan, noting that they hold NADRA-issued Overseas Pakistani ID cards and are “Pakistani citizens.” She also warned that any harm to them would become an “international issue.”
Meanwhile, netizens wonder why did Kasim and Sulaiman apply for visa when they have NICOP. However, they believe it was safer if they travel on British passports to have the protection from British High Commission in Pakistan.
Regarding their arrival and protection, sitting ministers, including Khawaja Asif questioned why would the government stop Imran Khan’s sons from coming to Pakistan?”
The federal government has yet to make an official statement, but Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry previously said there would be no hindrance if they chose to visit. He remarked that if they remain within legal bounds, visas could be granted “in less than 24 hours.”
Kasim and Sulaiman not joining PTI’s protest
On Tuesday, Imran Khan clarified that his sons will not be coming to Pakistan to participate in the protest movement announced by his party.
Earlier, Aleema Khan had told reporters that Imran Khan intended to lead a protest movement from jail against the 26th Amendment.
We have knocked on every door, but no one has listened. I had asked for dialogue only once, and that too was conditional upon commissions to investigate the events of November 26th (2024) and May 9th (2023) being formed. It was Asim Munir who ordered the shooting of unarmed…

She had also claimed that his sons, Sulaiman and Kasim, would join the protest after returning from the United States.
Kasim and Sulaiman file no visa request: sources
In the meantime, sources in the Ministry of Interior have denied Aleema Khan’s claims about the visa applications of Kasim and Sulaiman being under review by the ministry.
They clarified that no visa request from Imran Khan’s sons is currently being processed or considered by the interior ministry.
The sources added that family or other types of visas are not issued by the interior ministry.
Such claims are factually incorrect, they said, emphasising that these matters fall under the jurisdiction of the Pakistani High Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, not the Ministry of Interior.
