ISLAMABAD: A petition has been lodged with the Islamabad High Court challenging the purported abduction of Shandana Gulzar, a former member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The petitioner, Sabahat Gulzar Khan, has raised serious concerns about the alleged kidnapping of her daughter, Shandana Gulzar, reportedly orchestrated by individuals identified as personnel from the Islamabad police force.

The petition has implicated prominent figures, including the Islamabad Inspector General (IG), the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) from Bani Gala, and the Station House Officer (SHO), who have all been named as respondents in this case.

During a recent court session presided over by Justice Babar Sattar, the petitioner’s legal representative, Sher Afzal Marwat, presented the stance on behalf of Shandana Gulzar.

Advocate Sher Afzal Marwat emphasized that Shandana Gulzar, a former PTI MNA, was allegedly subjected to a forceful abduction by individuals clad in uniforms resembling those of the Islamabad police force on Wednesday, around 5 pm.

Marwat went on to elaborate that an official complaint regarding the alleged abduction had been formally registered with the SHO of Bani Gala; however, as of now, no concrete measures have been taken in response.

After thoroughly deliberating on the arguments presented, the court took a decisive step by issuing notices to all relevant parties implicated in the case.

The court proceedings were adjourned, and the next hearing is scheduled for August 15.
