ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has granted police a three-day physical remand for human rights lawyer and activist Imaan Mazari-Hazir.

This was in response to a case registered against her in Bara Kahu police station. The court also granted permission for Imaan to meet her mother Shireen Mazari.

This development also comes after she was re-arrested after being granted bail in another case. Earlier today she petitioned the Islamabad High Court  to instruct relevant authorities to provide comprehensive details about the cases filed against her across the country. To ensure a fair and transparent process, the Secretary Interior, Inspector General of Islamabad, and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail have been made parties to the petition.

Mazari, known for her activism and vocal stance on various issues, has expressed her willingness to fully cooperate with authorities. In her plea to the court, she has requested the intervention to prevent the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and provincial institutions from making further arrests.
