Bushra Bibi and her supporters are doing ‘thug’ politics: Vawda

KARACHI: Senator Faisal Vawda visited Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters and met with the party leaders. After the meeting, Vawda and MQM leader Mustafa Kamal spoke to media about the current political climate in the country.

Kamal said that Pakistan is currently going through instability. “Everyone in Pakistan is saying that I am right and the other [person] is wrong.” He said that Vawda is a “one-man army” and expressed MQM’s support for Vawda.

In response, Vawda said, “[Considering] the situation that Pakistan is going through, everyone will have to work together. Consultation with all political parties is necessary for the national cause.”

The senator said that Pakistan is finally on the right track and the economy is going in the right direction. He said that the mandate of all political parties need to be accepted, including that of founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.

“Sit-ins cannot be held every day. The country cannot afford this,” Vawda said, adding that Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and her followers are doing the “politics of Maula Jatt”.

Speaking about the grievances raised by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Vauda said, “Maulana’s legitimate demands should be fulfilled”.

He said that Chief Minister Ali Amin’s thug politics will not last long. “The country cannot tolerate sit-ins and injustice towards the people now. Until we sit together, the country will not be able to move forward,” Vawda added.

Senator Vawda said that PTI is trying to play politics at the risk of putting Imran Khan’s life in danger. “The [hype] of civil disobedience will be [deflated] on December 14,” he said, adding “I request the judiciary to respect the law made by the parliament.”

Speaking on the ongoing discord between Imran Khan’s wife and sisters, Vawda said “If anyone is sincere with Imran Khan, it is his sisters”. Senator Vawda also refuted the claims that the establishment has made any contacted with the PTI.
