ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned DIG Operations, Rawalpindi to provide comprehensive details regarding the cases involving former first lady Bushra Bibi, as part of the ongoing investigations into the events of May 9.
Bushra Bibi has been implicated in several cases related to the incidents on May 9. During a session presided over by IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq, Bushra Bibi’s counsel Latif Khosa highlighted that, in at least one of these cases, the investigation has yet to commence despite the issuance of an arrest warrant.

Justice Farooq, in his dialogue with advocate Khosa, emphasised the prolonged nature of the proceedings, noting that it has been two years since the incidents of May 9. The court reiterated its decision that an individual arrested in one case should be considered arrested in all related cases. “It is not permissible for someone granted bail or acquitted in one case to be arrested in another,” the chief justice said.
The Chief Justice also inquired about the status of the FIRs related to the May 9 incidents. Advocate Khosa informed the court that there are eleven FIRs, all dated May 9. The court’s directive to the DIG Operations Rawalpindi also includes an inquiry into the status of these cases.
