CHARSADDA: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, has broken her silence over the D-Chowk incident, claiming that she was present throughout the entire operation. However, she claimed that it was the leaders and workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who left her alone.
According to media reports, the former first lady visited Charsadda to meet with the bereaved family of workers who allegedly lost their lives during the Islamabad protest fiasco. She offered condolences and handed over cheques of one crore rupees to the families of the deceased workers.
While interacting with party supporters, she shared her emotional struggle during the protest, particularly in the aftermath of the deaths. “I couldn’t understand why people were spreading so many lies. I am not a woman who flees. Those who came out for Khan, I would never leave them alone.”
Describing the events at D-Chowk, Bushra Bibi claimed that no one knew which vehicle she was in and that until 12:30 AM, she was alone in her car at D-Chowk. “After that, many vehicles arrived because the authorities were forcibly clearing the area,” she explained.
Bushra Bibi said that she remained at D-Chowk because Imran Khan had instructed her not to leave. “I told everyone not to leave me alone, but they all left, and I was left there completely alone,” she recalled.
She further claimed that as she refused to leave the area, her car was shot at directly. “When I didn’t leave, they fired directly at my vehicle,” she said, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
Bushra Bibi also highlighted the bravery and resilience of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying, “Pathans have always been proud and have always proven their honor.”

She said her visit to meet the families of the deceased was in accordance with Imran Khan’s instructions, a gesture to offer support during their time of loss.
It may be remembered that PTI founder Imran Khan had called upon his party to hold a protest at D-Chowk on November 26. A significant number of PTI workers, led by Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, reached Islamabad. However, police and Rangers conducted a late-night operation, clearing the area from D-Chowk to Jinnah Avenue and arresting several protesters.
Following the retreat from Jinnah Avenue, Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur fled the scene in a vehicle and held a press conference next day in Mansehra.
