Bushra Bibi gets air cooler, LCD, private kitchen in Adiala Jail, court told

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday took up the petition seeking better facilities for the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi in jail, as the Adiala Jail superintendent submitted a report detailing the arrangements made for her.

According to the report, Bushra Bibi has been provided with a separate, spacious room in jail, equipped with a mattress, chair, table, and a bookshelf. The room also has proper lighting and a fan, with an air cooler provided during the summer.

The report further stated that Bushra Bibi has access to an LCD screen and a separate kitchen facility for cooking. Her meals are inspected by a medical officer before being served, and she undergoes medical check-ups twice a day.

Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas, who presided over the hearing, directed the jail authorities to provide a copy of the report to Bushra Bibi’s lawyer. The court instructed her counsel to review the report and present their stance in the next hearing.

Advocates Usman Gull and Zahir Abbas appeared in court on behalf of Bushra Bibi and the judge adjourned further proceedings, stating that the next hearing would be scheduled as per the roster.
