Case registered over ‘violent November 24 protest’; Imran, Bushra, Alvi nominated

TAXILA: First case against the violent episode of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) November 24 protest has been registered at Taxila police station.
Former premier and founder of PTI Imran Khan, former first lady Bushra Bibi, and former president Dr Arif Alvi have been nominated as the parties responsible for the protest.
Opposition leader Omar Ayub, Khyber Pakhatunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, and PTI leader Azam Swati have also been named as respondents, along with over 300 local leaders and activists.
Yesterday, the PTI protestors clashed with the police personnel at multiple locations when they were stopped from marching towards the federal capital.
In a related incident near Khanna Pul in Islamabad, six police officers were injured because the protestors pelted stones at them.
PTI has announced a protest rally and a sit-in until incarcerated Imran Khan is released from Adiala Jail. The protestors convoys are enroute to the heavily fortified Islamabad since yesterday.
