CDA officials, police vacate from PTI’s central office


The CDA officers accompanied by heavy machinery left the PTI headquarters following a midnight raid that saw the headquarters sealed, and even partially demolished, with authorities also reportedly pulling down four walls and poles used for party flags.

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials and police finally vacated the central office of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in early hours of Friday.

The PTI headquarters was sealed and even partially demolished during a midnight raid by CDA officials and police.

According to reports, the CDA officers accompanied by heavy machinery left the PTI headquarters just now. The decision to evacuate the premises followed the sealing of the main office, with authorities also reportedly pulling down four walls and poles used for party flags.

The PTI leadership and workers also reportedly departed from the headquarters, leaving the premises now deserted.

Meanwhile, the party’s chairman Barrister Gohar condemned the CDA actions against the partial demolition at the PTI headquarters. Barrister Gohar declared the party’s intention to contest the matter in court.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PTI member Omar Ayub also likened the CDA’s actions to those of Israel in Palestine. He criticised the lack of prior communication from authorities.

The opposition leader stated that proper communication and dialogue could have resolved the situation peacefully.

Both leaders called for dialogue and adherence to legal processes, instead of what they term underhanded means.
