Court acquits Imran Khan, others in Section 144 violations

ISLAMABAD: A Sessions Court in Islamabad has acquitted founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and other PTI leaders in the violation of Section 144 and Amplifier Act case.
Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood gave a reserved verdict on the acquittal petitions.
The court has acquitted the former premier Imran Khan, along with Asad Qaiser, Saifullah Niazi, Sheikh Rasheed, Sadaqat Abbasi, Faisal Javed and Ali Nawaz accused in the case.
The case against the accused was registered at Aabpara Police Station in Islamabad on August 20, 2022.
In related reports, the Punjab Assistant Advocate General presented a report to the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday (yesterday) detailing the cases against Imran Khan.
The report shows that 54 cases have been registered against the former PTI chairman across Pakistan courts. Imran Khan is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
