Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, conveyed her distress following her visit to the Islamabad High Court today. Accompanied by her sister, Uzma Khan, she addressed the media, expressing her frustration with the ongoing legal proceedings.
She disclosed that during her visit, she was informed about the prosecuting lawyer falling ill, resulting in a delay in the proceedings.
“As long as the PTI Chairman remains incarcerated, their wellbeing will continue to suffer. The ability to deliver justice seems compromised, and they should issue a national apology for this,” she asserted, persisting in her critique of the judicial system.
She added, “The High Court and Supreme Court appear ineffective. While this unsettling spectacle persists, it is incumbent upon the relevant authorities to ensure the protection of the PTI Chairman.”
Furthermore, she voiced concerns about potential imprisonment due to her criticisms of the authorities, characterizing the situation as a “ping pong game.”
The sister of the PTI Chairman noted that both she and Uzma Khan have multiple cases registered against them, yet she affirmed their willingness to confront imprisonment.
In terms of access to her brother, Aleema Khan shared that the court had assured her a meeting opportunity on Monday.
“If we are denied access on Monday, we will stage a sit-in outside Attock Jail.”
