LAHORE: In a rather unusual move earlier today, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz urged party leaders and workers to start using merchandise carrying party symbol and slogans like “dekho dekho kon aya?”
She emphasised the importance of the slogan by saying “the tiger is coming back’, referring to the return of her father and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The merchandise include phone covers, notebooks, caps, and badges and have been created by, what Maryam Nawaz calls, ‘PML-N’ design department’.

She appreciated the design of the phone covers and said that they looked elegant and attractive. She also praised the creativity and hard work of the designers.
According to sources, Maryam Nawaz believes that these items hold great importance in the upcoming election campaign, as they would serve as a reminder of the party’s achievements and struggles.
She said that the PML-N has always worked for the welfare and development of the people and would continue to do so if voted to power. She also said that the party symbol represents the courage and resilience of the PML-N workers who have faced many challenges and hardships.

Twitter was quick to react to the video with people showing mixed emotions towards the project with some making fun of it as a “dropshipping course”.

Others questioned the choices of the leader of one of Pakistan’s largest political parties.
From economic management to knowing your audience, the PMLN has totally lost the plot.

But there are some who maintain that the merchandise is something that was missing “badly” in the political arena since a long time.
These type of accessories & election campaign tools were missing here badly since long… good initiative even much better https://t.co/tA59QhNQh9

It is yet to be seen if the proceeds from the merchandise will go to the designers or the party account.
