Firdous Ashiq Awan quits party post

LAHORE: Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has resigned from her position as central information secretary Istekham-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).

She submitted her resignation to the Party president Aleem Khan.

“I cannot fulfill party responsibilities due to personal commitments and health reason,” the resignation states.

She said that she would continue to support the party in its vision and mission to work for the national interest.

“My resignation should be accepted,” said Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan.

She also extended gratitude to the party leadership for their support during her tenure.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, born in Sialkot, is a veteran politician. She has held key posts in mainstream political parties such as the PPP and PTI before joining the IPP as its central information secretary

 Firdous Ashiq Awan is known for her vocal and free style is recognised as a strong advocate for women’s rights.
