PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur voiced frustration over restrictions on public gatherings despite receiving the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Speaking to the media outside the Peshawar High Court (PHC), Gandapur asserted that holding protests and rallies was a democratic right, which his party would continue exercising across Pakistan.

“We are being told we can’t hold our meetings even with the NOC in hand,” Gandapur said, underscoring his commitment to the cause. “Wherever the leadership directs us to go, we will go. Punjab Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb suggests we hold rallies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but our rallies will be nationwide.”
Responding to allegations that state resources are being used for these rallies, CM Gandapur said that all resources used were PTI’s own, and “BRT buses weren’t taken along”.
He also accused the government of attempting to make controversial amendments, stating, “We will not allow anyone to misuse their power, especially through the police, who are being forced to take actions they shouldn’t.” He added that the government’s actions, particularly during the caretaker administration, were infringing on constitutional rights.
