Gandapur’s arrest warrants issued

LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. ATC Lahore issued these warrants while hearing a case related to protest and violence against police by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on October 5.

ATC Lahore Admin Judge Manzar Ali Gul issued the arrest warrants. The non-bailable arrest warrant was issued on the request of the police. In addition to Gandapur, the court has also issued arrest warrants for four other PTI leaders, including Hammad Azhar, Saeed Sindhu and Shahbaz Ahmed.

The police counsel argued in court that Chief Minister Gandapur and others are not becoming part of the investigation. As a result, the court ordered for the warrants to be issued.

The case in concern has been registered at Masti Gate Police Station Lahore against all accused.
