ISLAMABAD: The issue of resettling the TTP terrorists echoed in the National Assembly yet again on Thursday, as the government responded to the opposition criticism over operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
With the incarcerated PTI founder, Imran Khan, continuously opposing any operation against terrorists, his party members again shared their “serious reservations”, as they pressed ahead with the demand of having dialogue.
However, the government didn’t back down.
State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry, in his response, posed a question: Who resettled the TTP [in Pakistan]?
It was a clear reference to Imran who had admitted allowing thousands of TTP terrorists and their families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s merged districts — the erstwhile FATA.

And on Wednesday, Imran’s latest statement was shared on his X account, in which he said the operation against in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was designed to “weaken” his PTI.
MAY 9
Talal also talked about the violent May 9 protests, the consequences of which the PTI is paying through the sentencing of party leaders and workers.
“Every knows the reality of May 9,” the state minister said and added that “popularity doesn’t mean no one can question you.”
EXTORTION PAYMENTS
During his speech, Talal also remarked that how the ministers and the chief minister paying extortion to the terrorists could fight.
Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had levelled the same allegation but through a question. However, Talal — his junior in the interior ministry — was direct.
Talal made it clear that the fight against terrorism was in progress and the actions taken under National Action Plan (NAP) would continue.
