ISLAMABAD: Senator Irfan Siddiqui of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has announced plans to re-introduce constitutional amendments in the first or second week of October.
Speaking to a private news channel, Siddiqui emphasised the importance of these amendments for the country’s political landscape.

Addressing ongoing tensions with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Siddiqui criticized the party’s track record regarding protests, referencing incidents of PTI supporters causing damage during demonstrations. He said that while there are no obstacles to peaceful democratic protests, “PTI’s history raises concerns”.
In response to a question about the upcoming appointment of the Chief Justice, Siddiqui confirmed that, according to current legal provisions, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is expected to be the next Chief Justice of Pakistan.
