ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch on Saturday urged the world community to hold India accountable for its “grave breaches” of international humanitarian law and war crimes in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Talking to a private news channel, she regretted that the Indian government was changing the demography of occupied Kashmir. She said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was continuously violating international laws.
She demanded the release of all illegally detained Kashmiri political prisoners and Hurriyat leaders, particularly Yasin Malik, who are languishing in different jails of IIOJK and India.

The FO spokesperson maintained that it was the responsibility of the international community to come together and demand for India’s compliance with its duties within the agreed legal framework espoused by the comity of civilized nations, in keeping with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.
“India must be urged to respect its international obligations, especially those related to the relevant UNSC resolutions”, she said.

She said the whole population of IIOJK is under siege, and occupation troops are ruthlessly engaging in crimes like the ethnic cleansing of the Kashmiri people.
She urged the world to break the silence in the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, European Parliament and other national and international forums.
