Housing society, fuel price and former NA speaker under SC’s focus

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has scheduled hearings for three substantial cases in the upcoming week, starting from Sunday.

All three cases involve significant implications, involving the real estate sector, fuel price adjustments, and a prominent political leader’s bail cancellation appeal.

The first of these cases is about the fuel price adjustments, and it is set for hearing on October 15.

A three-member bench led by Chief Justice Faiz Isa, and including Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Athar Minallah will oversee the hearing.

Supreme Court’s decision to nullify NAB amendments challenged

The Registrar of the Supreme Court has issued notices to the Attorney General and electricity supplier companies, highlighting the significance of this case in the context of the country’s energy pricing policies.

The second case involves Bahria Town Projects case, which will be heard on October 18.

The bench overseeing these proceedings comprise Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, Justice Aminuddin Khan, and Justice Athar Minallah. Notices have been issued to all parties involved, including Bahria Town.

The final of these cases relates to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser’s bail cancellation appeal.

It is scheduled for a hearing on October 19. A two-member bench led by Justice Sardar Tariq Masood will preside over this hearing. The case was initiated after the provincial government filed an appeal to revoke Asad Qaiser’s bail, stemming from his alleged involvement in the May 9 incidents, which has stirred considerable controversy.
