ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected a contempt of court petition filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding the non-decision on their protest petition despite a court order. Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb delivered the verdict on the petition submitted by Amir Masood Mughal.
PTI granted permission for protest; IHC contempt cases likely nullified
Previously, Justice Saman Riffat Imtiaz had directed the district administration to make a decision on PTI’s protest petition. According to PTI, the Deputy Commissioner did not make a timely decision on their request for a protest scheduled for July 29.
PTI’s petition named Home Secretary Khurram Agha, Chief Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and Inspector General as respondents. However, the IHC ruled that no specific court observation was violated in this matter.
