ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced the convening of an ‘Interfaith Harmony Conference’ scheduled for Wednesday.
The primary focus of the conference will be to address critical concerns surrounding attacks on religious sites, the desecration of Holy Scriptures, and the safety of minority communities.
The event is set to assemble religious leaders and delegates representing diverse faith communities. Chaired by the Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed, the conference aims to foster unity and collaboration among various religious groups.
The conference is anticipated to serve as a platform for constructive discussions and joint efforts towards nurturing interfaith harmony. Through open dialogue and cooperation, the attendees will engage in meaningful exchanges on topics of utmost importance in ensuring peaceful coexistence among different faiths.
This news comes weeks after numerous churches and homes were burned down and destroyed in Faisalabad’s Christian colony of Jaranwala. The event, sparked by interfaith conflict, has raised massive concerns regarding intolerance towards religious minorities in the country.
