PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Saif has said that the internal threats to Pakistan are more dangerous than the external threats like the Indian Army. He made these remarks during a media talk outside the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday.
Speaking about the recent conflict with India, he said that Pakistan got united and gave a befitting reply to Indian aggression. “[However] we are more threatened by internal enemies than by the Indian army,” he said, adding, “Differences on political fronts play a big role in this.”
Barrister Saif said that Pakistan needs political unity now. “The cases of founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan are not even scheduled for hearings,” he said, adding that “Pakistan’s political parties should end internal differences and release Imran Khan.”
He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz tried to take credit for winning the war, but “when the war was going on and missiles were being fired, both the father and daughter were in hiding.”
He said that PTI is still facing cases regarding their Islamabad protest. “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has also paid the fees of lawyers and bail bonds from his own pocket,” he said, adding that the Punjab government should submit challans of PTI workers to court soon.
