Intra-party elections: PTI rubbishes rumours about Imran Khan not running for chairmanship slot

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has strongly denied rumours circulating in the media regarding party chairman Imran Khan’s non-participation in the intra-party elections.

 

In a statement released on Tuesday via the social media platform, X, PTI refuted speculations circulating in the media regarding a particular issue. The party also rejected assertions made by a “senior party leader” regarding Imran’s purported decision not to contest for the party chairman position in the upcoming intra-party elections.

The statement clarified that ongoing discussions are in progress on various crucial matters related to the conduct of intra-party elections. It further read that no final decision has been reached regarding the possibility of withdrawing Imran from the election or proposing an alternative leader in his stead.
