Jail supt served notice for not letting Khan talk to sons

ISLAMABAD: The Special Official Secrets Act Court took action on Monday by issuing a notice to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail for preventing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman from communicating with his sons.
PTI Chairman’s legal representative, Shiraz Ranjha, lodged a contempt petition in the Special Court of Official Secrets Act regarding the denial of phone contact between PTI Chief and his sons.

The petition emphasized that in violation of court orders, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail had not permitted Khan to engage in telephonic conversations with his sons residing abroad.
The petition further requested the initiation of contempt of court proceedings against the Adiala Jail Superintendent for disregarding the court’s directives, and urged the jail authorities to enforce the order enabling Khan to communicate with his sons.
Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain, presiding over the Special Court of Official Secrets Act, reviewed the appeal submitted by PTI Chairman and directed the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to respond by November 08.
