The sit-in has been called to advocate for the rights of the people, JI said, adding that this protest aims to address issues of government policies and economic hardships faced by the public.
Hafiz Naeem stated that the government claims to be constrained by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Hafiz Naeem criticised the provision of free electricity to the elite in Multan and the failure of landlords to pay taxes. He also lamented the increase in privileges for assembly members and the tax exemptions granted to bureaucracy for property purchases.
The JI leader pointed out that exports have been taxed and that the current budget adversely affects every section of society.
