JUI (F) to hold meeting with ECP today

ISLAMABAD: A delegation from the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) is slated to meet the Election Commission on Thursday.
According to JUI(F) spokesperson, the party’s delegation is scheduled to convene with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) at 3 o’clock today to deliberate on the upcoming elections. The meeting invitation was received from the Secretary Election Commission.

He further said that the delegation will be led by the JUI (F) Central Secretary General Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri while the delegation will include Senator Advocate Kamran Murtaza, Advocate Jalaluddin, Maulana Atta Ul Haq Darwesh among other members.
“The meeting will involve discussions concerning the holding of the upcoming general elections,” the spokesperson added.
ECP to hold consultations with political parties ahead of general elections
Earlier on Tuesday, the ECP decided to hold consultations with the major political parties ahead of the general elections.
According to sources, the ECP was set to consult with the political parties separately and the consultations would include discussions on range of areas including electoral timeline and proposed election dates.
The sources further said that the ECP would convene to deliberate on the strategic plan for the upcoming general elections. The discussions would revolve around important issues including constituencies and voter registry.
