Maryam Nawaz appoints 25 parliamentary secretaries across Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the appointment of 25 parliamentary secretaries across various departments in the province.

Key appointments include Osama Leghari as the Parliamentary Secretary for the Agriculture Department and Malik Iftikhar Ahmad for Awqaf and Religious Affairs.

Earlier this month, Punjab CM replaced six secretaries and deputy commissioners in the province in a first since the formation of the new government.

Before this, the provincial government continued operating with the administrative officers appointed during the caretaker government, without any transfers and postings.

With these new appointments, Malik Waheed will serve as the Parliamentary Secretary for Food, Shoaib Awaisi for the Board of Revenue, Shehryar Malik for Excise and Taxation, Mansoor Azam for Energy, Muhammad Zubair for Mines and Minerals, Ajmal Khan for Higher Education, Nausheen Adnan for School Education, and Sonia Ashiq for Human Rights and Religious Affairs.

Other notable appointments include Hassan Askari Sheikh as the Parliamentary Secretary for Industries, Commerce, and Investment, Shazia Rizwan for Information and Culture, Sahibzada Ghazeen Abbasi for Labor and Manpower, and Khalid Ranjha for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.
