MNAs earn just Rs 156,000 per month, senate told

ISLAMABAD: Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) draw a monthly salary of Rs156,000 with no extra perks, the senate was informed on Friday.

Federal Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar briefing the Senate on the salaries, allowances, and perks of federal ministers during question hour said, MNAs receive a monthly salary of Rs156,000 adding that the parliamentarians are not provided vehicles but are allocated Rs8,000 per month for utility bills.

Regarding federal ministers, Tarar stated they earn around Rs200,000 monthly adding that 95 per cent of ministers do not take their full salaries.

While they are provided a 1500cc car and 400 litres of petrol, they pay for their own electricity and gas, as no additional perks are granted.
