Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar says APC to decide course of action

ISLAMABAD: Senior politician Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar on Tuesday said the opposition parties were organising an All-Parties Conference (APC) from July 31 to August 1, which would make decision about the future line of action after deliberations.

However, Federal Minister Musaddik Malik was confident in saying that the narrative of PTI had died.

The APC is being held under the banner of Tehrik-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP), with the PTI among the member parties, he said in HUM News current affairs programme “Faisla Aap Ka”, hosted by Asma Shirazi.

Khokhar stressed the need for formulating a strategy to tackle the prevailing challenges and said the PTI founder, Imran Khan, and other political prisoners should be released.

His demand is in complete contrast to what the government believes as Rana Sanaullah, special assistant to the prime minister, on Monday said the charges against Imran were based upon facts. Imran would get the punishment for what he had done, he added.

PTI NARRATIVE IS DEAD

On the other hand, the federal minister told Shirazi that the PTI’s narrative had died and the planned movement from August 5 wasn’t any threat to the government.

When asked about the possibility of dialogue, Malik wondered with whom the government should talk, as even the PTI leadership wasn’t ready to accept each other’s decisions.

In this connection, he also reminded the host that the PTI wanted to talk to the establishment only.

He was referring to the ongoing differences and infighting in PTI, which magnified when Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur gave a 90-day deadline even though the party had given the August 5 call.

“Which party? Which movement? Who will run [the movement] and where it will take place,” he remarked.
