Muzamil Suhrawardy

ISLAMABAD: In a recent episode of the programme Power politics with Adil Abbasi on Hum News, senior analyst Muzamil Suhrawardy said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief, despite the no-confidence motion, persisted in his efforts to secure an extension for former Army Chief General Retired Qamar Bajwa.

Muzamil Suhrawardy disclosed that the PTI Chief was actively engaged in arranging meetings and facilitating the extension process for General Bajwa.

Meanwhile, speaking about Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership he said: “Shehbaz Sharif did not immediately approve the extension for Bajwa, instead, he opted to ‘send Bajwa home’”.

The senior analyst also stated that it’s widely known that Bajwa had communicated to Shehbaz Sharif his request for an extension, along with a warning about the potential imposition of martial law.

Suhrawardy further emphasised that Qamar Bajwa’s strong desire for an extension was no secret, suggesting that had PTI Chief been the Prime Minister, he must have considered a lifetime extension for Bajwa.
