Earlier today, the SC later overturned lifetime disqualification for lawmakers on Monday, January 8. The decision was based on confusion surrounding article 62(1)(f) of the constitution. There was lack of clarity on whether a disqualified official was barred from holding public office for life or five years only.

The latest judgment from the SC now enables the PML-N supremo to contest the upcoming general election slated for February 8.
