Nawaz Sharif’s much-awaited return to Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif is set to return to Islamabad on Saturday morning, marking his homecoming after four years in self-imposed exile. Following his arrival in the capital, he will proceed to Lahore, as reported by sources.
The sources indicate that the preparations for the former Prime Minister’s return have been finalised, and the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued the flight schedule for his journey from Dubai to Pakistan.
Nawaz Sharif’s flight is scheduled to depart from Dubai at 8:25 am, with an anticipated arrival at Islamabad International Airport around 12 pm.

Subsequently, the flight will depart from Islamabad at 1:30 pm, bound for Lahore, where it is expected to touch down at 2:30 pm.
Ahead of his return to Pakistan, on Friday, Nawaz Sharif engaged in significant meetings with Pakistani business figures, UAE authorities, and other notable individuals.
Earlier, on Thursday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted protective bail to Nawaz Sharif in Avenfield and Al-Azizia cases until October 24. The former premier had approached the IHC, seeking court’s restraining order from arrest as he could approach the court.
Meanwhile, an accountability court also suspended permanent warrant of former PM Nawaz Sharif in Toshakhana case. The court, on a petition, suspended warrant against Nawaz Sharif in Toshakhana reference till October 24. “The warrant will be restored if he fails to appear in court on Oct 24,” the court announced. – INP
