Nawaz will return to ‘change Pakistan’s destiny’: Shehbaz

QASUR: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday lauded the accomplishments of his brother and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, and criticized the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government for “damaging the country’s diplomatic and economic relations”.
Addressing a large gathering of supporters in Qasur, the prime minister said that Nawaz Sharif had brought unprecedented development and progress to the country during his tenure, by launching projects such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), metro and road infrastructure, dams and laptops distribution.
He said that Nawaz Sharif resolved the energy crisis that plagued the country in 2008, when there was 20-hour load shedding. He also said that Nawaz Sharif had initiated friendly and brotherly relations with all countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and China.

He claimed that Nawaz Sharif was the architect of the Diamer-Bhasha Dam, which he said would generate electricity and provide water for irrigation.
He also said that Nawaz Sharif had provided laptops to millions of youth across Punjab and the federal region, without any favoritism or corruption.
He said that Nawaz Sharif had eradicated terrorism by launching the Zarb-e-Azb operation, with the support of the armed forces, politicians, and the people. He said that Pakistan had suffered from terrorism for a long time, but it had been eliminated under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership.
He also accused the previous government of inviting terrorists to Pakistan in 2021 for renewed terrorism. He questioned who had planned and sponsored terrorism in Swat again and brought death to people.
He said that Nawaz Sharif would return to the country and change its destiny. He predicted that Nawaz Sharif would be the next prime minister after a clean election. He said that he would form a government with the people’s mandate.
He also slammed the previous government for ruining relations with Saudi Arabia and China. He said that the PTI chairman had leveled false allegations against him and China regarding foreign investments. He said that China had refused to invest in Pakistan if they were obtained through false accusations.
He also highlighted the progress made by Nawaz Sharif in the agricultural sector. He said that the PML-N supremo also boosted agricultural development and supported farmers.
He expressed his gratitude to the people of Qasur for their support and love. He said that they had purchased his heart with their sight. He said that his elder brother had served the people of every corner of Punjab.
He recalled how he used to ask every day during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure about the flood-affected people. He said that he cared for the welfare of the people.
He also lamented the injustice done to Nawaz Sharif in the Panama case. He said that 400 names were in Panama, but penalties were imposed on the former premier only. He said that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz faced 100 accusations but never wore a bulletproof vest.
He also expressed his condolences to the victims of the tragic train accident that claimed 30 lives.
