Parvez Elahi arrested, transferred to Attock jail

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has been arrested and transferred to Attock Jail following an arrest warrant issued under 3 MPO, as reported by sources.

According to the sources, the orders were issued by Islamabad Magistrate amid allegations of  creating public unrest.

The MPO order said that Elahi was accused of causing disorder and unrest, highlighting the danger he poses to public peace and safety.

Meanwhile, in the past, Elahi has been accused of inciting PTI supporters to disrupt the law and order, as detailed in the MPO orders.

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the SSP Special Branch recommended his detention, leading to a 15-day confinement order. However, the order said that Elahi holds the right to challenge the order through legal means.

As per the order, Parvez Elahi being an influential figure of PTI, is seen as a potential catalyst for the deterioration of the law and order situation in Islamabad.
