Pervez Elahi’s case adjourned due to transfer of Special Court’s judge

LAHORE: Due to the transfer of the judge of the Special Court, Lahore concerned, the proceedings of the case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi were adjourned till September 15, without hearing.

Earlier, the court had directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to submit the complete challan.

The FIA submitted an incomplete challan which drew the court’s ire. Consequently, the court had taken the step of instructing the initiation of legal action against the officials responsible for failing to comply with Moonis Elahi’s notices, the son of Parvez Elahi.

Parvez Elahi is currently grappling with a series of legal challenges.

In a separate development, an accountability court in Lahore extended his physical remand until September 2 in connection with a case involving alleged kickbacks related to development projects.
