Petition filed in LHC for release of Khadija Shah

Lahore: A petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) activist Khadija Shah.

The petition follows Shah’s arrest in connection with the assault on Jinnah House in Lahore, which occurred after the arrest of PTI chief on May 9.

Shah, a United States (US) national and fashion designer, turned herself in at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Iqbal Town police station in late May.

During the court hearing, the public prosecutor requested that the petition be referred to a two-member bench consisting of senior Judge Justice Ali Baqir Najafi.

The plea was accepted, and the case file was transferred to the Chief Justice LHC.
