PM Shehbaz Sharif invites PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto for dinner

ISLAMABAD: A meeting has been scheduled between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari today.

The prime minister has invited Bilawal Bhutto for an iftar dinner. The agenda of the meeting includes detailed discussion on the current political situation in the country. Situation in Punjab is especially in focus, sources said.

A delegation comprising Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, Naveed Qamar and Raja Pervez Ashraf and other top leaders will also be present during the meeting along with Bilawal Bhutto.

It should be noted that a meeting was scheduled between the Prime Minister and Bilawal Bhutto a week ago, but it was canceled due to some reasons.

In the previous meeting, the administrative matters of the government were to be discussed, while Bilawal Bhutto was to present the party’s reservations on agreements with the government to the Prime Minister.

PRESIDENT TO CHAIR JOINT PARLIAMENT SESSION

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari will address a joint session of Parliament today. Strict security arrangements have been made in this regard.

The Speaker and Chairman Senate will welcome President Asif Zardari to Parliament House. Entry of guests will be banned in Parliament House during the session.

The President’s address will cover various aspects of foreign affairs, politics, the country’s economy and public welfare. This will be the President’s second address to Parliament in less than a year.

The National Assembly Secretariat has completed all preparations and has released a single-point agenda for the session. The second parliamentary year will begin with the President’s address.
