ISLAMABAD: Renowned senior analyst Aamir Ilyas Rana has claimed that the selection of interim Prime Minister was already planned.
During an appearance on the show Power Politics with Adil Abbasi on HUM News, in response to a query by Abbasi regarding assertions by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf officials that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had no involvement in the selection of the interim Prime Minister, Rana said: “When Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Abdul Quddus Bizenjo diverged from Asif Ali Zardari, it provided a clear indication that decisions had already been made. Why BAP refrained from merging with the PPP is now evidently answered.”

Rana further said that the BAP leaders Jam Kamal and and interim premier Anwarul Haq Kakar met with PML-N chief organiser Maryam Nawaz a few weeks earlier. He said that at the meeting, they acknowledged their misjudgments and expressed that their alignment should have been with PML-N on the national stage earlier.
He said that in his assessment, both the occurrences unveiled a premeditated plan.
“The PML-N leadership was already aware of the developments, and subsequently, this information was shared with the PPP. As a result, the reins of power were handed over to Shehbaz Sharif,” Rana added.
Meanwhile, Aamir Ilyas further said that Principal Secretary Dr. Syed Tauqir Shah, and the Attorney General would continue their responsibilities. He said that the interim PM would include individuals who exhibit dedicated performance into his cabinet.
“Prime Minister Kakar has once again appointed Ahad Cheema as his advisor,” Aamir Ilyas said
