ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and a key leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been summoned to London by the party supremo Nawaz Sharif to reportedly discuss his concerns.
The development is happening in the wake of Abbasi’s conspicuous absence from the PML-N’s General Council meeting on June 16 in Islamabad.
Abbasi, who recently stepped down from the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), has expressed dissent over the intergovernmental procurement of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Azerbaijan. He has also drawn attention for his critique of the newly elected PML-N President and Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif.
Sharif, on the other hand, has made it clear that those criticising the policies of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will not be considered for any party positions.
