LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has once again announced a series of protests across Punjab, as part of its ongoing campaign for what it describes as the “sovereignty of the people.”
PTI Punjab Central Secretary General Hammad Azhar confirmed that the protests will continue in key cities throughout the province over the coming days.

Azhar outlined the protest schedule, with demonstrations planned in Multan and Sahiwal on October 11, followed by Gujranwala and Sargodha on October 12. Dera Ghazi Khan Division will see protests on October 13, with major rallies scheduled in Lahore and Faisalabad on October 14.
After these demonstrations, PTI’s Political Committee is expected to make a call for a larger mobilisation in Islamabad.
The announcement comes just days after PTI supporters gathered in Islamabad’s D-Chowk on October 5 to protest, though the demonstration saw an unexpected shift. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who was expected to lead the rally, instead went to KP House, leaving the protesters without their anticipated leadership at the site.
During the protest, authorities took stringent measures, shutting down mobile and internet services, and enforcing an almost complete lockdown across Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

PTI’s latest round of protests appears to be a continuation of its efforts to challenge the government, with a focus on mobilising public support across Punjab and potentially nationwide. The situation remains tense, as both the authorities and PTI brace for the upcoming demonstrations.
