PTI expels 22 key party members

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expelled 22 of its members from south Punjab for violating the party policy and discipline.

According to a notification issued by the PTI, former Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar and former minister Khusro Bakhtiar are among those who have been removed from the party.

Other prominent PTI members who have lost their basic membership are Sardar Muhammad Khan Laghari, Javed Akhtar Ansari, Farooq Azam Malik, Muhammad Akhtar Malik, Syed Muhammad Nadim Shah, Ehtesham Haq, Bahawal Khan Abbasi, Sabina Gul, Mian Shafi Muhammad, Muhammad Asghar Shah, Mian Tariq Abdullah, Muhammad Afzal, Ahsan Haq, Saleem Akhtar, Muhammad Zahiruddin Khan Alizai and Salman Khan Gudka.

IHC all set to hear PTI chief’s plea challenging cypher inquiry

The notification, signed by PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub, stated that the membership of all these individuals has been revoked with immediate effect. The party has also barred them from using the PTI’s name, designation and membership.

It warned that legal action will be taken against those found violating the party policy.
