SWABI: Former National Assembly (NA) speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaiser said on Tuesday that the party would hold protest demonstrations at Mansehra and in Islamabad on July 5 and July 6, respectively against the introduction of taxes in the budget and inflation.

Speaking to the media at an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad, Qaiser said there was a need to hold free and fair elections in the country; such elections which brought stability to the country. He further said he was satisfied with the speeches of SIC-PTI members of the National Assembly (MNAs) during the ongoing budget session.

PTI leader said the party was with all those who wanted to register their protest against inflation.

Earlier, Judicial Magistrate Malik Muhammad Imran ordered the police to submit a challan in the case registered against the ex-NA speaker at the I-9 police station of Islamabad in connection with the PTI’s Azadi March at the next hearing. Qaiser appeared in the court along with his lawyer Ayesha Khalid.

Later the court adjourned the case’s hearing until July 20. – INP
