Punjab approves purchase of luxury vehicles for parliamentary secretaries

LAHORE: The Punjab Government has given the green light for the procurement of luxury vehicles for its Parliamentary Secretaries, according to official documents. According to some reports, this will cost Rs 612.475 million to the exchequer.

A total of 76 vehicles will be purchased, catering to both parliamentary secretaries and senior officers. The request for these vehicles was made by the Additional Chief Secretary of Punjab.

Among the purchases, two luxury vehicles from Indus Motors will be acquired specifically for the protocol of the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD). Additionally, 30 luxury cars are set to be procured for the provincial ministers’ protocol.

The documents also reveal that the government will be paying approximately Rs 17.5 million in taxes on the acquisition of these vehicles as well.
