Punjab police seek custody of Hassan Niazi

LAHORE: The Punjab police have formally requested custody of Hassan Niazi, the nephew of PTI chairman, who is currently under the custody of Quetta police following a transfer from Abbottabad.

Hassan Niazi is a key figure in the Jinnah House vandalism case and is being sought by the Lahore police.

Sources reveal that Hassan Niazi, a legal practitioner, was apprehended from a friend’s residence after eluding authorities for several days to evade arrest. He had relocated to this location a few days prior, according to insider reports.

Hassaan Niazi’s father, Hafeezullah Niazi, took to Twitter around 2:30 am to confirm his son’s apprehension.

Meanwhile, Lahore Police has confirmed that Hassan Niazi is a wanted individual in connection with the Jinnah House vandalism case.

Authorities have initiated the process of securing his transfer to Lahore and have dispatched an official letter to the Quetta Home Department to facilitate his relocation.

Niazi’s arrest comes amidst a crackdown on the former ruling party PTI due to the May 9 violence, which included assaults on public and private facilities, including Lahore’s Jinnah House.

His father, Hafeezullah Niazi, a well-known media figure, expressed his wish for legal adherence during this situation.
