PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Advisor Muzzammil Aslam has strongly criticised the Punjab government, accusing them of plagiarising key initiatives originally launched by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
In a statement, Aslam claimed that the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ housing scheme, recently unveiled by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, was, in fact, a rebranded version of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s ‘Apna Ghar’ scheme introduced by Khybar Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur.

Aslam said, “As a joke, if someone copies another’s idea, it’s often called a ‘China copy’. Currently, the policy of the Maryam Nawaz government is also a ‘China copy’ of our original plans.”
The finance advisor went on to argue that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz, has been mimicking several initiatives that were first pioneered by the PTI administration. He listed projects like Model Rehri, Model Hospital, Electricity Subsidy, and Apna Ghar as efforts that were originally introduced by PTI’s former chairman Imran Khan.
“From health cards to education cards and housing schemes like ‘Apna Ghar’, all these are initiatives that began in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Aslam asserted. He implied that the Punjab government, instead of innovating, was relying on copying “successful PTI policies”.

In a sarcastic tone, Aslam added, “At least Punjab government is getting some training this way,” adding that despite the borrowing of ideas, it could be seen as a learning curve for the current Punjab leadership.
