Rana Sanaullah slams PTI Chief’s political vision

Rana Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD:  Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) Rana Sanaullah voiced his admiration for key political figures during an appearance on Hum News’ programme “Hum Dekhenge with Mansoor Ali Khan”.

During the programme, Sanaullah expressed optimism about the future of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Miftah Ismail, and Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, describing them as individuals of exceptional merit.

“I believe these three capable individuals won’t waste their potential,” remarked Sanaullah.

He emphasised his desire for Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar to remain affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party. “I wish for individuals of such caliber to remain actively engaged in political parties,” he added.

Speaking about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), Sanaullah asserted that he harboured no personal hatred toward the PTI Chief. Instead, he critiqued the ideas put forth by the PTI leader, suggesting that they were detrimental to politics.

“Politics can’t do well with PTI’s leadership, as only around 15 to 18 per cent of the population supports the PTI Chief’s agenda,” he added.

Meanwhile, regarding the imminent return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Sanaullah revealed that extensive preparations had been made.

“An application for Sharif’s bail would be submitted to the Islamabad High Court,” he said.

In a reflection on Pakistan’s political climate, Sanaullah contended that the nation’s political narrative had been overly dominated by discussions of accountability. He expressed hope that a shift toward a developmental narrative would pave the way for progress.

Sanaullah also addressed a recent statement by caretaker interior minister Sarfraz Bugti, suggesting that it had been taken out of context.

“The caretaker minister had stated that Nawaz Sharif would be dealt with in accordance with the constitution and the law. PML-N accepted Bugti’s explanation; we need to consider the full context of his interview,” the PML-N leader said.

Regarding the PML-N’s anticipated rally at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore, Rana Sanaullah said, “The turnout of one million people is not a significant number.”
