QUETTA: Sharif Khan Khalji, former leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has announced his return to the fold of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The announcement comes amidst growing discontent within the ranks of the PPP and signals a significant shift in the country’s political landscape post-election.

Khalji, a prominent figure in politics, cited his disillusionment with the direction of the PPP as a key factor in his decision to rejoin PTI. In a candid statement, Khalji expressed his belief that the PPP had deviated from its founding principles, becoming more aligned with the interests of the Zardari family rather than the vision of its iconic leader, Bhutto.
This announcement reverberated across political circles, with observers noting the potential ramifications for both the PPP and PTI. Khalji’s return to PTI signifies a strengthening of the party’s ranks and underscores the challenges faced by the PPP in retaining its core support base.

“I never engaged in politics for personal gain or financial incentives,” Khilji said, adding that he was forced to leave PTI, “but now I am rejoining PTI”.
These developments come at point when parties are manoeuvring to consolidate support ahead of forthcoming elections.
