LAHORE: A miscellaneous application has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) by a petitioner seeking the implementation of the Supreme Court’s decision regarding reserved seats. The petitioner stated that despite the Supreme Court’s detailed ruling, the decision has not yet been enforced.
SC announces detailed verdict on reserved seats case
The petitioner noted that an eight-member bench of the Supreme Court had already provided a detailed judgement on the matter, which clarified the allocation of reserved seats. “The detailed decision of the Supreme Court has come, yet it remains unimplemented,” the petitioner said.
The petitioner also highlighted that letters had been issued to the speakers of all four provincial assemblies, urging them to act upon the decision. However, the matter remains unresolved. The petitioner specifically pointed out that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has not yet received its reserved seats, despite the court’s ruling.
“Supreme Court decides party entitlement to reserved seats, not individuals”
“The court should order the allocation of the reserved seats to PTI, as per the Supreme Court’s decision,” the petitioner demanded. The petitioner further requested that the court instruct PTI to ensure the implementation of the decision regarding these seats.
