Senate elections: voting underway in Lahore for a general seat

LAHORE: Election process is currently underway in Punjab Assembly, for a general seat of the Senate.

The voting process will continue until 4 PM. Four candidates are in fray for Senate election in Punjab. The two top contenders are Hafiz Abdul Karim backed by the government, and Mehr Abdul Sattar backed by the opposition.

Rana Arshad, Chief Whip of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has been appointed as polling agent for today’s election. Opposition’s Rana Shahbaz is also performing the duties of polling agent.
